Ms. Bush-Butler is an experienced music therapist with a Masters in Music Therapy.
We offer a comprehensive package of music therapy programs, both for individuals and groups, specifically tailored to meet student needs.
Our music therapy programs offer goal oriented music therapy activities that increase eye-hand coordination and motor skills, increase self awareness and social interaction.
They are designed to reinforce academic objectives in literacy, math and educational goals to meet IEP standards based on Individualized Music Therapy Assessement Profile (IMTAP) results.

Music Therapy helps people to engage themselves with and in the music and results in them achieving health-related and other social goals.
Ms. Bush-Butler, our owner and founder, has genuine interest in people and a desire to help others to empower themselves. Her principal core value involves establishing a trusting and caring relationship with people of all ages and abilities and conveying patience, empathy, openness and understanding.
Program OverviewMs. Bush-Butler currently works with several Music Therapy students. The students are engaged in numerous creative music therapy interventions. They take an active role in the music therapy sessions. Classes are taught in an integrated setting. Students are encouraged to participate in various venues: such as recitals, community nursing homes and community events.
Delivery of services includes individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship.
This process includes an initial assessment, establishing a treatment plan consisting of short term and long term goals, implementation and documentation.
The length of the sessions may vary from forty five minutes to one hour depending on the individuals needs.
Ms. Bush-Butlers music therapy experiences began when she was working with low functioning mentally challenged individuals with IQs less than 20, who were non-ambulatory, wheelchair bound and non-verbal, Music Therapy promoted and improved their quality of life.
In 1997, she created a successful Music Therapy Program at the Maryhaven Center of Hope. The children residing in this house are finding a non-threatening means of communicating their feelings through activities centered around music.
Students enrolled in the Music Therapy programs have had the opportunity to take an active role in the music therapy sessions. They create music, sing, compose a song and play piano, ukulele, the violin and the xylophone. As one parent shared, Thank you for your patience and dedication to bringing out our sons love of music. You helped make our dream come true.
These individuals have challengers and disabilities and vast obstacles they struggle to overcome on a daily basis, but did not allow their disabilities to define them or limit them.
Ms. Bush-Butler is proud to be able to use her talents through music to help each individual achieve all that they want to achieve.
Students enrolled in our Music Therapy Programs will experience:
-- Therapeutic music-therapy sessions for individuals with special needs.
-- Individual and group sessions based on the students need.
-- Engage students in improvisations, song writing, lyrical discussion, music imagery, music performance and learning through music.
-- Design Music therapy goals and appropriate music therapy activities for Autistic, Learning Disabled, Mentally Challenged students.
-- Design goal oriented individualized music therapy activities to increase eye-hand coordination and motor skills, increase self-awareness and social interaction.
-- Music therapy reinforces academic objectives in literacy, math and educational goals to meet IEP standards.
-- Conduct Individualized Music Therapy Assessment Profile (IMTAP) Administered which assesses the emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities and cognitive skills.
